Resilient Solar Retrofits: Adding Storage to Existing PV and Making New Installations Storage Ready
August 4, 2016 @ 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
This webinar provided an overview of a new solar+storage resource, “Resilient PV Retrofit and Storage Ready Guidelines.” The fact sheet provides guidance on retrofitting existing solar PV with energy storage, and how to reduce future integration costs by making new PV installations “storage ready.” The resource was prepared by the City University of New York (CUNY), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and Meister Consultants Group as part of their three-year Resilient Solar Project.
In this webinar, speakers from Sustainable CUNY and the NREL walked through design and financial considerations, and example schematics.
Guest speakers:
- Lars Lisell, New York State Solar Ombudsman, Sustainable CUNY
- Kari Burman, Senior Engineer, National Renewable Energy Laboratory
- Erica Helson, New York State Solar Ombudsman, Sustainable CUNY
