Opportunities and Barriers Shaping the Offshore Wind Market in the Northeastern U.S.
November 20, 2017 @ 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM ET
The Northeast has the potential for offshore wind deployment of between 4,000 to 8,000 MW, according to a new report entitled “Northeast Offshore Wind Regional Market Characterization.” The report was written by the Roadmap Project for Multi-State Cooperation on Offshore Wind Development, a collaborative led by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, with the participation of the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources, and the Clean Energy States Alliance.
This webinar provided an introduction and overview of the Roadmap Project, including the several other reports and findings resulting from the project. Report authors discussed the opportunities and barriers shaping the regional offshore wind market and the model they used to develop two regional deployment trajectories for offshore wind generation by 2030.
