Technical Assistance Fund

Providing technical support to build local resilience.

Clean Energy Group’s Technical Assistance Fund (TAF) fills a critical resource gap by equipping community-serving organizations with the information they need to advance a resilient power project - solar paired with battery storage (solar+storage).

The TAF provides dedicated one-on-one support to help community-serving organizations gain a better understanding of solar+storage and its benefits. CEG provides one-on-one support in talking through your community’s resilience needs and goals, and the process for developing solar+storage at a specific facility.

For eligible projects, CEG can provide funding to engage technical expertise to produce a feasibility assessment for a specific solar+storage project. Clean Energy Group serves as an advisor throughout the process to ensure that each organization’s questions are answered and their unique energy resilience, economic, and community goals are prioritized.

As of June 2025, the Technical Assistance Fund is accepting applications from organizations interested in developing community solar paired with battery storage projects. This assistance is provided through Inclusive Prosperity Capital’s (IPC) Solar for All program. Projects in 46 states, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico are eligible to apply. To learn more about your project's eligibility, please complete this intake form.

CEG also supports energy resilience for community health through the Solar+Storage Microgrids for Rural Community Health Centers project. This effort aims to build health resilience through solar+storage installations in Community Health Centers serving low-income, rural communities across eight states in the Southeast – Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee – and six federally recognized Tribes. Who We Serve

The TAF supports organizations that provide essential services to low-income and underserved communities, environmental justice communities, and communities of color so that they can develop resilient power solutions for critical community service providers in the event of a power outage. Clean Energy Group works with a diverse array of community-serving institutions, such as community centers, emergency shelters, cooling centers, affordable housing, food pantries, fire departments, and health clinics to provide information and guidance. CEG is committed to awarding 50 percent of TAF funds annually to support the resilient power efforts of Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC)-led organizations.
