Implementing Expanded RPSs in Oregon and Rhode Island
January 25, 2017 @ 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
In 2016, both Oregon and Rhode Island strengthened and extended their RPSs. In Oregon, the 2025 target increased from 25 percent to 27 percent and additional future targets were added, culminating in 50 percent in 2040. In the case of Rhode Island, the final goal of the state’s Renewable Energy Standard went from 14.5 percent by 2019 to 38.5 percent by 2035.
In this webinar, Rebecca Smith (Senior Policy Analyst at the Oregon Department of Energy) and Linda George (Senior Legal Counsel at the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission) described their states’ new RPS laws and explained how the states are preparing for implementation.
This webinar was presented by CESA for the RPS Collaborative.
